2006: Acquired by the Browns in a trade with San Francisco on May 4…Entered the season as the third QB behind starter Charlie Frye and backup Derek Anderson…Listed as the inactive – 3rd quarterback for the first 13 weeks of the regular season…Moved up to the backup QB position for the final four regular season games.
2005: In his third season with the 49ers, started three games and completed 48-of-90 passes for 481 yards and 2 TDs…Started three games, after the trade of Tim Rattay and a knee injury to Alex Smith, did not play in eight contests and was inactive for five games…Began the season as the third quarterback behind Tim Rattay and Alex Smith.
2004: Played in eight games, including seven starts, and completed 123-of-226 passes for 1,231 yards with 6 TDs and 9 interceptions…Made his NFL debut vs. Atlanta on Sept. 12, replacing starter Tim Rattay (shoulder) in the 2nd quarter and completed 9-of-15 passes for 111 yards.
2003: Designated as 49ers third quarterback Weeks 1-8 ... Did not play Weeks 9-11 as backup ... Designated as third quarterback Weeks 12-17.
College Career:
Was 38-2 as a starter and led the Hurricanes to 2001 National Championship ... Led his team to victory in 34 consecutive games, the longest winning streak of any starting quarterback since Oklahoma's Steve Davis (1973-75) ... Led Miami to three Big East Conference championships and was undefeated as a starter in conference play (25-0) ... Owns nearly every significant Miami passing record, including most touchdown passes (86), passing yards (9,565), pass completions (668), total offense (9,486), pass attempts (1,153), 200-yard passing games (31) and consecutive passes thrown without an interception (193, 1999-2000) ... Threw for over 300 yards ten times and for two or more touchdowns 28 times during his career ... Led Hurricanes to victories in three major bowl games the last three seasons: 2000 Gator Bowl (vs. Georgia Tech), 2001 Nokia Sugar Bowl (vs. Florida) and 2002 Rose Bowl (vs. Nebraska).
