The Mission Viejo Diablos came into the game ranked number one in Orange County and Friday night they cemented their position atop the rankings. The Diablos controlled the game from start to finish, putting the finishing touches on the Vista Panthers in the second half for a dominating 42-20 victory.

Quarterback Spotlight: Josh Moten
Narbonne’s 6 foot 1 quarterback Josh Moten is recognized as one of the most feared dual-threat quarterbacks in California. The third-year starter is ranked as the top city section quarterback by the LA Times. The senior quarterback destroyed defenses through the air last year, passing for 2,127 yards and 21 touchdowns. Moten was just as destructive on the ground, slicing up the opposition for 829 yards rushing and 10 touchdowns.

A Shootout in Santa Ana: Centennial sinks Mater Dei 47-35
In last year’s contest, better known as “The California Shootout,” the two rivals combined for a state-record 1302 yards of total offense as Mater Dei escaped with a 51-37 victory. The non-league matchup was considered by many to be the “most entertaining high school football game in California history.”
