The Seahawks will compete over two days, starting with round-robin play, followed by a single elimination tournament. Building off of the NFL's HSPD (High School Player Development) program, each day will have a character development component with round table discussions, guest speakers and break out groups.
The other NFC teams joining the Seahawks and the Saints in Louisiana will be the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Washington Redskins, San Franciso 49ers, Carolina Panthers, and the Minnesota Vikings. The AFC representatives will be the New England Patriots, New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos.
As a sophomore, Heaps led the Skyline High Spartans to the Washington 3A State Championship with an unblemished 14-0 record. He completed 202 of 336 passes (60%) for 3,101 yards, and 31 touchdowns with only seven interceptions.
His efforts earned him honors of 3A AP All-State quarterback, 1st Team All-League, and the recipient of the Max Preps and Seattle Times Player of the Week awards during the season.
