DSU: What would you classify as your strengths at the quarterback position?
TM: I’m a very coachable quarterback who throws well on the run, exhibits good mechanics, and also has quick footwork.
DSU: Who has been your role model or anyone who has strongly influenced your playing career?
TM: Growing up I admired the playing career of Dan Marino. Marino was my mom’s favorite player as well, but he just had a real cannon for an arm and a very quick release on the ball.
DSU: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
TM: Every night before the game I always lay my clothes out that I’ll be wearing on game day. In the morning I will go to church, and after school is out I always wear the same polo and pants.
DSU: Who are your three favorite NFL quarterbacks?
TM: Dan Marino, John Elway, and Joe Montana
DSU: What are some of your favorite hobbies?
TM: I love to sing, mess around with my friends, and play video games.
DSU: What is your latest recruiting update?
TM: SMU, Harvard, Michigan State, Virginia, Brown, and San Diego State have invited me to their summer camps. I’ve also been getting emails from Stanford.
DSU: Do you have a list of favorite colleges?
TM: Right now my list of favorites is as follows: SMU, San Diego State, UTEP, TCU, and Harvard.
Glendale Academy Diary:
It’s great seeing old faces and getting some work in before the start of my senior year. The coaching staff has been great! They’re always helpful and offer up some exceptional tips. I especially liked Anton (Clarkson’s) station. Anton had us do a simple curl flat read drill that forced us to improvise. As a quarterback sometimes you’re going to have to improvise to make a big play. This particular drill helped my playmaking ability out a lot. Another drill I really enjoyed was the one that required us to react to what our coach was doing, and then roll out and throw a deep ball to the end zone. Just being here at this camp is a true highlight for me. It’s all about what you make of this opportunity. Overall I thought I did OK. I threw a couple bad balls, but it wasn’t too bad at all. I definitely saw myself learn from my own mistakes and improve as the day progressed. I’m looking forward to getting back out here for Sunday’s session to continue getting coached up by all the instructors. This academy allows for some great exposure and the opportunity to compete against the best quarterbacks around.
