DSU: What would you classify as your strengths at the quarterback position?
JH: What I bring to a teams offense as the quarterback is my competitiveness, heart, determination, leadership, accuracy, knowledge of the game, and refusal to accept nothing but victory.
DSU: Who has been your role model or anyone who has strongly influenced your playing career?
JH: My role models have been my parents. They have done so much for me and have helped me to be able to excel as a quarterback. Without them I wouldn’t be the person or player that I am today.
DSU: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
JH: I always go over to eat at my teammate Gino Simone’s house before every game. We have scrambled eggs, hash browns, and ham all mixed together.
DSU: Who are your three favorite NFL quarterbacks?
JH: Hall of Famer Steve Young, Peyton Manning, and Matt Hasselbeck.
DSU: What are some of your favorite hobbies?
JH: Other than playing sports enjoy being involved in my church group and hanging out with my close friends.
DSU: What is your latest recruiting update?
JH: I have four scholarship offers from Washington, BYU, Stanford, and UCLA. I have been receiving a lot of interest from other schools around the country.
DSU: Do you have a list of favorite colleges?
JH: I don’t have a list of favorites. I’m just open to anyone who is interested in me.
Glendale Academy Diary:
I had a great time at Steve Clarkson’s Quarterback Academy. I loved the competition and all the instruction I received throughout my time here. The coaching staff is all very personable and knows what they’re talking about. One of the big things I learned about playing quarterback came from Steve Clarkson. He told me to make sure that I am balanced in my drop so that I can deliver the ball more accurately. Though the highlight had to be working with Coach Clarkson, I would say I especially liked the footwork drill. That station is where you have to work the hardest and really work up a sweat. Overall, I felt I performed very well, but you can always improve in everything you do. I flew down here form Washington because I want to keep getting better and better. This place offered me new tips and instruction that will take my game to new heights. I would recommend this academy because it is a place where quarterbacks can learn how to become better overall players.
