DSU: What would you classify as your strengths at the quarterback position?
AB: What sets me apart from other quarterbacks is my physical strength (bench – 305 and squat – 415), my strong arm, and superb accuracy. Also, my dedication and determination exceeds most other athletes. I am a team leader with an unquestionable work ethic.

DSU: Who has been your role model or anyone who has strongly influenced your playing career?
AB: Bill Romanowski has been my role model. I read his book “Romo” and it changed my entire mindset about football. Another individual who’s influenced my career is my old AAU coach. He has instilled the principles of hard work and desire in me since the 4th grade.

DSU: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
AB: I always listen to R&B and rap music before games. Then as we get close to the stadium I begin to visualize and focus on my job. Every game I pray for the safety of the team and for God to watch over me.

DSU: Who are your three favorite NFL quarterbacks?
AB: I like Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Steve young because they’re all elite players and playmakers.

DSU: What are some of your favorite hobbies?
AB: I enjoy lifting weights, playing golf, and basketball.

DSU: What is your latest recruiting update?
AB: I’ve received lots of interest from Northwestern, Indiana, Miami (OH), and Toledo. Medium interest has come from Iowa State, Wake Forest, and Cincinnati. I’ve visited most of these schools on Junior Day’s or personal invites.

DSU: Do you have a list of favorite colleges?
AB: I’m looking for the best fit at the Division I level where I can come in and play.

Glendale Academy Diary:

This is a very good academy in terms of the level of instruction that is offered. The coaches are all very personable and fun to talk to. They were really into the drills we were doing and pushed us to do our very best. It was evident they really knew what they were talking about. Casey Clausen helped me out quite a bit on my five-step drop with no hitch. My favorite drill was the one that required us to throw comeback routes 15-18 yards down the field. That is a popular route we run at Archbishop Alter so I enjoyed working on it. I don’t think I performed to the level that I’m capable of performing. I’m being inconsistent with things that I shouldn’t be and I’m not throwing as tight a spiral as I’m accustomed to throwing. Hey, we all have our off days but I’m my own biggest critic. For the most part I’m doing OK. I’d recommend this program to any quarterback in the country. I’ve met a lot of new people and have got to do what I love with people who know more than I do. Coach Clarkson and staff really know a lot and I feel very privileged to be here this weekend. I can’t wait to get into next season because I’m bigger, stronger, and more knowledgeable of the game. I’m ready to put on a show and tear teams up. I’m looking to perform at a level higher than everyone else and of course… capture a State Championship!
