DSU: What would you classify as your strengths at the quarterback position?
DF: My arm strength and ability to read a defense which enables me to throw accurately in the pocket and on the run. I bring exceptional leadership skills, an intense work ethic, a willingness to excel at the QB position and a winning attitude.
DSU: Who has been your role model or anyone who has strongly influenced your playing career?
DF: My father has strongly influenced my football career. He has shown me hard work ethic and that nothing in life comes easy. He has always been there to train with me and push me beyond my limits. He has always been willing to do whatever it takes to assist me in accomplishing my goal to be a great Quarterback.
DSU: Do you have any pre-game rituals?
DF: I always pray that my team will be in unity, to be one, for protection and strength for my team and that we will play to the best of our ability. I meditate and visualize the game and prepare mentally. I make sure I rest well the night before a game. I am always very conscience of my health and eat well so that I can maintain a physically and mentally strong performance.
DSU: Who are your three favorite NFL quarterbacks?
DF: Troy Aikman, Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer
DSU: What are some of your favorite hobbies?
DF: I truly enjoy fishing. I also enjoy water and snow skiing.
DSU: What is your latest recruiting update?
DF: My head coach Dan Williams is currently sending out film to division one colleges. I am receiving lots of letters and I have been personally invited to some spring camps. I have not received any offers at this time but I am going to attend some college spring and summer camps and try to get as much exposure as possible, my time is very limited due to the passing leagues that I begin in June. I have been invited to the Nike Football Camp May 17, 2008 Stanford University, I have also been invited to the Elite 11 Quarterback May 16, 2008 Cal- Berkeley, I am hoping to get some offers before this senior season starts. I realize that the colleges are making decisions early.
DSU: Do you have a list of favorite colleges?
DF: Auburn, Boise State, California, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Washington
Ambassador College Diary:
Steve Clarkson’s Quarterback Academy was structured very well. The coaching staff consisted of high energy guys who were very informative. The biggest piece of coaching advice I received came from Perry Klein. Coach Klein told me that “It’s not how many reps you get; it’s what you do with the reps you get.” My favorite station had to be the one with all the footwork drills. They were very intense and challenging, but it was a great workout. I also enjoyed the digital program in the classroom. The lesson was very informative and the technology added learning environment. The highlight of my day came from a comment directed at me from Coach Dickinson. Referencing my arm strength after I let go of a pass, Coach Dickinson walked up to me and said “Do you have a license to carry that shotgun?” Overall I feel that on a scale of 1-10, my performance would rank around a 7 or 8. This is a program I would recommend to other quarterbacks looking to get better because it’s very efficient and informative. I’m looking forward to coming back for Day #2 so I can continue to display my talents and improve my accuracy.
